There are a lot of characters in this book, but I am just going to talk about the main ones. Isabella Swan (Bella) is one of the biggest characters in this book. Bella likes to keep to herself, she doesn't mind being alone. She is also very clumsy, she says she could never be an athlete because of her bad hand-eye coordination. She is 17 yeas old and has pale white skin, blue eyes, and brown hair; but in the sunlight it has tints of red. Stephanie Meyer uses a direct method of revealing Bella.
The next character is Edward Cullen. He is 17 years old also; he has very chalky, pale white skin, with untidy, bronze-colored hair, he has dark shadows under his eyes, and from Bella's first look at him he has dark eyes, but later in the book they change to a light brown. Edward is all around beautiful, like he came out of a movie. He acts strange around Bella in the beginning and tells her she should stay away from him. He is mysterious and Bella can't stop thinking about him, she demands to know what he is. Edward is revealed directly just like Bella.

Good descriptions of your characters. I think the author does a good job of making Bella seem really self-conscious. It makes us understand what it is like for her to be around such beautiful people as the vampires - she feels really inferior. Do you picture the characters like the actors that played them in the movie?
