I have chosen to read Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I chose to read this because I have seen the movie and to see if the book is really better than the movie. I want to also see what all the "Twilight" fuss is about.
So far into the book, a 17 year old girl named Bella moves back to Forks, Washington with her dad Charlie. Forks is a small town everyone knows everyone. It is cold and rainy there. Bella is quiet and likes to keep to herself, so she doesn't know what to do when she gets all the attention at her new school. Her first day she notices the Cullen family. They are all so beautiful and different, they have pale white skin and look like they came out of a movie scene. Edward Cullen is in her biology class and acts very strange around her. Then he doesn't show at school. When he comes back he saves Bella from a van skidding across the parking lot. Then Bella starts to wonder about his strange behavior, looks, and feelings. She hears a local legend from Jacob Black, he is Charlie's friend Billy's son, about the "cold ones" or vampires. This all logical to the Cullens pale white skin, the way they speak like they're from another time, Edward's quick speed and strength, and his cold skin.
This is how far I am into the book so far.

I really loved this book. I read it for a lot of the same reasons - just to find out what all of the fuss is about. I haven't seen the movie, though.
ReplyDeleteI've only seen the movie. Is the book good? so far...
